Facts of Life column
A mural to celebrate The Linc Centre, a Poplar Harca community centre.
The mural is inspired by 21 years of residents' memories and visual references, which include the Grime artists Dizzee Rascal and Tinchy Stryder who attended the Centre as teenagers and developed the music genre there. The mural is designed in 6 separate sections. Each panel represents approximately 4 years of the Centre’s timeline. The total length of the work is 6.84 metres. The artwork is comprised using a variety of mediums. There are colour, transparent and black and white images, stencils and drawings. It is a collage of imagery, representing various events and members of the Linc over the years. The background includes buildings and shops from the local area.

A series of creative exercises to enlighten, inspire and empower young girls.
The individual exercises help to develop awareness of the life challenges that they might face. Issues such as body image are addressed for example and the spreads offer subtle coping mechanisms including creativity and humour to address these challenges. It is designed to encourage an awareness of world issues such as, the environment, ecosystem and politics and promotes a sense of self reliance and empowerment.
